ForgeFix Flat Penny Washer ZP M5 x 25mm, Pack of 20
Bright zinc-plated ForgeFix flat penny washers (M5 x 25mm) for corrosion resistance and load distribution. Pack of 20.
The ForgeFix Flat Penny Washer ZP M5 x 25mm is designed for durability and corrosion resistance, featuring a bright zinc plating that enhances its longevity and performance. These washers get their name from their resemblance in size to an old penny, making them a familiar and practical choice for various fastening applications.
Washers serve a crucial role in distributing the load under a bolt head or nut face, ensuring a smooth bearing surface that reduces the likelihood of loosening due to uneven surfaces. The zinc coating not only acts as a protective barrier against oxidation but also serves as a sacrificial anode if the barrier is compromised.
Applications
- Suitable for all types of bolts and nuts
- Ideal for general bolting applications where load distribution is critical
- Provides corrosion resistance, making it suitable for outdoor or high-moisture environments
Zinc oxide, which forms on the surface, acts as a secondary protective layer, similar to aluminium and stainless steel oxide layers. This ensures prolonged protection and functional integrity. The washers come in a convenient ForgePack of 20, making storage and usage hassle-free.
