ForgeFix Roofing Bolt ZP M8 x 30mm, Bag of 25
Durable ForgeFix roofing bolts with zinc plating for corrosion resistance. Ideal for roofing and joining applications.
The ForgeFix Roofing Bolt ZP M8 x 30mm offers superior durability with its bright zinc plated finish, which significantly enhances resistance to corrosion. This makes the bolts suitable for both interior and exterior use, even in harsh weather conditions where rust could otherwise be an issue. These double slotted roofing bolts come with square nuts and feature a low profile mushroom head for a secure and discreet fastening solution.
Applications
While primarily designed for roofing, these versatile bolts are ideal for various joining applications. Their zinc coating not only prevents oxidation but also acts as a sacrificial anode if the protective barrier is compromised. Zinc oxide forms a fine white layer that maintains the substrate's integrity, similar to the protective oxide layers found on aluminium and stainless steel.
Installation Tips
To ensure optimal performance, use a clearance drill size 1mm larger than the bolt diameter. When using slotted screwdrivers, match the tip width to the screw slot to avoid damaging the screw head. Flared tip screwdrivers are generally suitable, but parallel tips are recommended for driving screws below the material surface.
