The MICROCHIP Fixed LDO Voltage Regulator is a high-performance CMOS low dropout linear regulator featuring a convenient shutdown function. Designed to deliver up to 150mA of output current, this regulator consumes a mere 50µA of typical quiescent current, making it highly efficient for power-sensitive applications. When disabled via the shutdown pin, the device draws an ultra-low 0.01µA of current, preserving battery life in portable systems.
Operating across a wide input voltage range of 2V to 28V, this LDO offers excellent output voltage accuracy of ±2% at 25°C, alongside a typical line regulation of ±0.15%. It remains stable with just 0.1µF of input and output capacitance, granting designers the flexibility to use ceramic, tantalum, or aluminium electrolytic capacitors. For robust operation, the device incorporates over-current limiting with current foldback to 40mA, providing reliable short-circuit protection. Furthermore, it boasts a high Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) of 50dB typical at 1kHz, ensuring clean and stable voltage delivery.
