Timco Hex Coach Screws, Zinc, 6.0 x 70mm (Pack of 10)
Heavy-duty Timco zinc-plated coach screws (6.0x70mm) for timber & masonry. Pack of 10, corrosion-resistant.
The Timco Hex Coach Screws are a traditional heavy-duty woodscrew designed for robust timber-to-timber applications. These screws are also suitable for attaching ironmongery to timber or masonry when used with a nylon plug. Their sharp point ensures easy penetration, while the zinc finish provides corrosion resistance for long-lasting performance.
Features
- Hex head for secure tightening with a spanner or wrench
- Carbon steel construction ensures high strength and durability
- Zinc-plated finish enhances resistance to rust and corrosion
- Sharp point for easier driving into wood without pre-drilling (though a pilot hole is recommended for hardwoods)
Specifications
Each screw has a 6.0mm thread diameter and an overall length of 70mm, with a thread length of approximately 42mm (roughly 2/3 of the screw length). The pack includes 10 screws, making it ideal for both DIY projects and professional use.
Applications
These coach screws are perfect for heavy-duty woodworking tasks, including:
- Securing decking, fencing, and garden structures
- Fastening timber beams and framework
- Fixing ironmongery to wooden surfaces
- Outdoor construction projects where durability is essential.
For masonry applications, they should be used with nylon wall plugs for a stronger hold. Their sharp point reduces the need for pre-drilling in softer woods, making installation quicker and more efficient.
