ForgeFix High Tensile Set Screw M8 x 100mm, Zinc Plated, Pack of 10
Grade 8.8 zinc-plated set screws (M8 x 100mm) for secure fastening in engineering and construction.
The ForgeFix High Tensile Set Screw M8 x 100mm is crafted from grade 8.8 steel and finished with a zinc plating for superior corrosion resistance. Fully threaded and compliant with DIN 933 standards, these set screws are versatile and reliable for a wide range of fastening applications.
Zinc plating provides an effective barrier against oxidation, prolonging the screw's lifespan. Even if the coating is damaged, zinc acts as a sacrificial anode, ensuring continued protection. The resulting zinc oxide layer further prevents deterioration, similar to the oxide layers on aluminium and stainless steel.
Applications
These set screws are ideal for securing various materials and can be used with different nut types and washers. They are commonly employed in engineering projects where high tensile strength and durability are essential. Suitable for pre-tapped holes, they offer a secure and long-lasting fastening solution.
