ForgeFix High Tensile Set Screw ZP M6 x 40mm, Pack of 10
Durable zinc-plated set screws (M6x40mm, pack of 10) for engineering & construction. High tensile grade 8.8 steel compliant with DIN 933.
ForgeFix High Tensile Set Screws are manufactured from grade 8.8 steel, making them exceptionally strong and durable for a variety of fastening applications. These screws are fully threaded and zinc plated (ZP) for enhanced resistance to corrosion, ensuring long-lasting performance even in demanding environments. They conform to DIN 933 standards, guaranteeing consistent quality and reliability.
The zinc plating serves a dual protective function: forming a robust barrier against oxidation and acting as a sacrificial anode if the coating is compromised. This ensures the underlying steel remains protected, even if the plating is scratched. The zinc oxide layer further enhances durability by preventing substrate breakdown, similar to the protective oxides found on aluminium and stainless steel.
These set screws are versatile and can be used with various nut types and washers, making them ideal for securing different materials together or fastening into pre-tapped holes. Widely utilised in engineering and general construction applications, they provide a secure and resilient fastening solution.
