The 4TRONIX Cube:Bit Base is designed to hold all three sizes of RGB LED Cube Kits, providing a stable and versatile platform for your electronic projects. This base allows you to power your Cube:Bit in several ways and offers direct connection capabilities for your micro:bit or Raspberry Pi.
Power and Connectivity
You can connect 5V power via a 2.1mm DC jack (centre positive), a Micro USB connector, crocodile clips, or through the GVS pins. The versatile design enables you to directly connect a micro:bit, Raspberry Pi Zero, or Crumble. A standard size Raspberry Pi can also be used, although it will not fit directly without using a GPIO extension cable.
Software and Assembly
When using a Raspberry Pi, standard neopixel code is readily available, and there is a special package specifically for micro:bit use. Assembly is straightforward and can be completed in minutes with just a screwdriver—no soldering is required.
