Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Straight Flute Tap Set, 6mm (3-Piece)
Dormer E500 HSS coarse tap set (6mm) for precise threading in multiple materials. Includes taper, intermediate & bottoming taps.
The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Straight Flute Tap Set offers exceptional versatility for both manual and machine tapping applications. Designed with straight flutes, these taps are the only type suitable for hand use while maintaining compatibility with machine operation when required.
This 3-piece set is ideal for tapping through or blind holes across a wide range of materials. For blind hole applications, it's recommended to use all three taps in sequence for optimal results:
- Taper/First Tap
- Second/Intermediate Tap
- Bottoming/Third/Plug Tap
Crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), these metric coarse taps deliver excellent durability and performance. The bright surface treatment ensures smooth operation and resistance to wear. Each tap features different chamfer numbers (1, 2, 3) and serial numbers (4, 5) for easy identification within the set.
