Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap Set, Straight Flute, 4mm, Three-Piece
Precision Dormer HSS tap set (4mm) for hand/machine use. Includes taper, intermediate & plug taps for blind holes.
The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap Set is an essential toolkit for precision threading, featuring straight flute taps that can be used both manually and in machines. This versatile set is designed to handle both through and blind holes across a wide range of materials. For optimal performance in blind holes, the taps should be used as a complete set, comprising:
- Taper (First) Tap – For starting the thread
- Second (Intermediate) Tap – For refining the thread
- Bottoming (Plug) Tap – For finishing the thread to the bottom of blind holes
Crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), these metric coarse taps meet ISO529 standards and feature a bright surface treatment. The straight flute geometry ensures efficient chip removal, while the chamfer numbers (1, 2, 3) cater to various threading stages. With a Class 2 tolerance for 6H fit, these taps deliver accuracy and durability for professional and DIY applications.
