EnOcean 868MHz Wireless Transceiver Module for Gateways

The EnOcean TCM 310 Wireless Transceiver Module provides the critical interface needed to build robust and reliable gateways for the EnOcean radio ecosystem. It creates a seamless bi-directional bridge, with an 868 MHz (or 315 MHz) radio interface on one side and a UART serial interface on the other, enabling effortless communication between wireless sensors and a connected host processor or PC.

All radio messages are transmitted transparently through the serial port in both directions, ensuring a direct and unimpeded data flow. Beyond simple message passing, the host can send control commands to configure the module's advanced features. This includes setting up programmable repeater functionality for one- or two-level network extension and managing the innovative Smart Ack technology, which enables reliable, bi-directional communication with energy-harvesting devices. The TCM 310 can act as a postmaster for up to 15 bi-directional sensors utilising this Smart Ack system.

The module is designed for integration and supports the EnOcean Serial Protocol 3 (ESP3), providing a standardised framework for communication. It is important to note that the module itself is not API-programmable; configuration and control are handled via the host through the serial interface. Its efficient design operates on a low supply voltage, making it suitable for a wide range of embedded applications where power consumption and reliable wireless data transfer are key concerns.
