IRWIN® HSS Cobalt Drill Bit, 8.0mm, 117mm
High-performance HSS cobalt drill bit (8.0mm) for stainless steel & hard alloys. 5% cobalt for heat resistance.
The IRWIN® HSS Cobalt Drill Bit is specifically designed for drilling stainless steel and other hard alloys with high precision. Featuring a 135° split point grind, this drill bit ensures accurate centring and reduces drilling pressure, making it easier to start holes and maintain accuracy. The industrial-quality ground flute facilitates efficient chip removal, enhancing drilling speed and precision.
Constructed from high-speed steel (HSS) containing 5% Cobalt, this drill bit offers superior heat resistance (red hardness) and significantly extends tool life compared to standard HSS bits. The inclusion of cobalt makes it ideal for tough materials that generate high temperatures during drilling. Additionally, the attractive golden tempered finish not only adds durability but also provides corrosion resistance.
