Rustins French Polish 500ml

The Rustins French Polish 500ml is a premium quality finish made from flake shellac dissolved in alcohol. It is designed for French polishing all types of dark and light-coloured woods, providing a light to medium brown tone. This versatile polish is also perfect for sealing wood before applying wax, ensuring a smooth and durable surface.

When applied correctly, Rustins French Polish produces a high-gloss finish that enhances the natural beauty of your woodwork. The alcohol base evaporates rapidly, leaving behind a protective film of shellac on the timber. For best results, ensure the wood is clean and smooth before application. If the grain is open, we recommend filling it with Rustins Grainfiller first.

Preparation:

• Remove any grease and wax from furniture by cleaning it with White Spirit and fine wire wool.

Application:

• For a rich, glossy finish, apply multiple coats of French Polish, building up the layers until the desired finish is achieved.
• To seal wood before waxing, apply 2 liberal coats of the polish.
