The TT Electronics / Optek Technology OPB990 series is a non-contact Photologic® slotted optical switch designed for reliable, high-precision motion sensing. This device features open apertures, pre-wired connections, and a totem-pole buffer logic output driver, providing a direct interface with TTL, LSTTL, and CMOS logic circuits without the need for additional components. Constructed with an opaque plastic body, it offers maximum protection against interference from external visible and near-infrared light sources, ensuring stable operation in challenging environments.

The standard housing incorporates a 0.125-inch (3.18mm) wide slot, with user-configurable options for output logic state, output driver circuit, aperture width, aperture surface finish, and mounting tab locations. The choice of aperture width allows for different optical resolutions, tailoring the sensor's sensitivity to specific motion detection applications.
