The VISHAY 138 AML Series Aluminium Electrolytic Capacitor is an axial leaded, miniature polarised component featuring a non-solid electrolyte. Designed to deliver very high ripple current capability, this capacitor is highly suitable for addressing demanding requirements such as low and high-frequency filtering and energy storage, where high capacitance values and power ratings are essential.
This device offers excellent capacitance-to-unit-cost ratios, maintains a compact size compared to alternative technologies, and is relatively insensitive to voltage spikes. The robust construction consists of an electrochemically etched aluminium anode foil forming the first plate, an oxide layer acting as the dielectric, and a paper spacer impregnated with fluid electrolyte forming the second plate. A second foil provides the contact with the fluid electrolyte.
