Zinsser Cover Stain® Primer Sealer Aerosol is a high-performance interior/exterior primer, sealer, and stain blocker that dries for recoating in just two hours. This versatile product delivers exceptional coverage and stain-killing properties, making it an essential tool for both professional decorators and DIY enthusiasts.

Interior Applications

When used indoors, Cover Stain® dries quickly and provides outstanding hiding power. It permanently seals all types of stains (including nicotine and water stains) to ensure blemish-free topcoats. It’s also highly effective as an enamel undercoat, allowing new wood trim to be primed, sanded, and top-coated on the same day—saving both time and money.

Exterior Applications

For exterior surfaces, Cover Stain® features a unique formulation that ensures deep penetration and excellent flexibility, even on dimensionally unstable wood panelling and trim. Few oil-based primers perform as well under these conditions. Its formulation resists cracking and peeling, ensuring long-lasting protection and compatibility with all decorative topcoats.

Application & Finish

Available in white, this primer can also be tinted to mid-tone colours. It can be applied using an airless sprayer, brush, pad, or roller for versatile use across different surfaces.
