Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap, Bottoming, 3mm x 0.5mm
Durable HSS coarse bottoming tap (3mm x 0.5mm) for blind & through holes. Precision-engineered for 6H fit threads.
The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap is a versatile tool designed for both manual and machine use. Crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), it ensures strength and durability, making it ideal for tapping through or blind holes in most materials.
When working on blind holes, it is recommended to use straight flute taps in sets. These sets consist of three taps, each serving a specific purpose in the tapping process.
Tap Set Types include:
- Taper or First Tap – Best for starting threads in holes.
- Second or Intermediate Tap – Helps in gradually cutting the threads after the first tap.
- Bottoming (Third or Plug Tap) – Refines the thread depth, especially in blind holes.
This Dormer E500 Tap is ISO529 compliant, featuring class 2 tolerance for a 6H fit, making it suitable for precise thread creation. Its bright surface treatment ensures corrosion resistance and longevity.
