Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap, Straight Flute, 14mm Second
Dormer E500 HSS straight flute tap, 14mm second, ideal for hand or machine use in through and blind holes. ISO529 compliant.
The Dormer E500 straight flute tap is a versatile tool that can be used both by hand and in a machine, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. It is designed to create threads in both through and blind holes across most materials, offering flexibility for different threading needs.
For blind holes, it's recommended to use these taps in sets for optimal results. A typical set includes three taps, each serving a specific purpose:
- Taper (First) Tap: Used to start the thread.
- Second (Intermediate) Tap: Continues threading to a greater depth.
- Bottoming (Third/Plug) Tap: Completes the thread to the bottom of the hole.
This 14mm Second tap is part of the E500 metric coarse series, built with High-Speed Steel (HSS) for durability and precision. The straight flute geometry ensures efficient chip removal, while the bright surface treatment enhances corrosion resistance. It meets ISO529 standards and is classified as Class 2 for 6H fit, ensuring high-quality threading performance.
Ideal for professional and DIY use, the Dormer E500 tap is a reliable choice for accurate and efficient thread cutting.
