The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap features a straight flute design, making it suitable for both hand and machine use. This versatility ensures it can efficiently tap through or blind holes in most materials.
When working with blind holes, it is recommended to use straight flute taps in sets. The set consists of three taps known as:
- Taper or First tap
- Second or Intermediate tap
- Bottoming (third or plug tap)
The E500 tap is constructed from high-speed steel (HSS), ensuring durability and resistance to wear. It features a bright surface treatment and is produced to Class 2 tolerance for a 6H fit, guaranteeing precision in threading applications. Available with chamfer numbers 1, 2, and 3, and serial numbers 4 and 5, this tap is designed for optimal performance.
