The SEEED STUDIO Grove IR Distance Interrupter Module v1.2 is a versatile sensor designed to detect the presence or proximity of an object. It operates on the principle of reflected infrared light, utilising an integrated LED and phototransistor (ITR9909) to sense changes in distance. This makes it an ideal component for creating presence detection, object counting, or line-following systems in your projects.

A key feature is its adjustable detection range, which can be finely tuned from 90mm to 300mm using the onboard potentiometer. The module provides a straightforward TTL digital output, delivering a logical HIGH signal when a dark (black) surface is detected and a LOW signal when a light (white) surface is detected, simplifying integration with microcontrollers.
