Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap, Straight Flute, 10mm Taper
Dormer E500 Straight Flute HSS Coarse Tap 10mm Taper. Designed for ISO529 Standards with Tolerance Class 2 for 6H Fit. For Professionals & DIY.
The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap with straight flutes is an exceptionally versatile tool that can be used both by hand and in machines. Designed to create threads in most materials, it is ideal for both through and blind hole applications. For blind holes, straight flute taps should be used as part of a set, consisting of three types:
- Taper (First Tap): Initiates the thread-cutting process.
- Second (Intermediate Tap): Progressively refines the thread.
- Bottoming (Plug Tap): Completes the thread near the base of blind holes.
Crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), this tap ensures durability and long-lasting performance in demanding applications. Its bright surface treatment enhances corrosion resistance, while the straight flute geometry aids in swarf removal, optimising performance during threading operations.
This metric coarse tap is classified under ISO529 standards and complies with Class 2 for 6H Fit, ensuring precision and reliability. Available in 10.0mm x 1.5 taper, it is a must-have for professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike.
