The Timco 5.5x50mm Self-Drilling Timber to Metal Screws are engineered for attaching wood to light-section steel (up to 5mm thickness securely). These screws feature a coarse self-tapping thread with wing-tip design, which effectively reams out timber to maximise RPM efficiency without burning out. Upon contact with metal, the wings break off, allowing the screw to self-tap into the metal for a secure, hassle-free installation.
These screws are countersunk with ribs for a flush finish and Phillips recess for easy driving. Made from case and core hardened carbon steel, they offer durability and strength, complemented by a zinc finish for corrosion resistance. Ideal for applications where quick and robust fastening is required.
